Balsam 51 Cover Scent

Our cover scent is collected from does or fawns and the urine is collected each day, bottled and a preservative is added to insure shelf life.

Balsam 51 Doe in Estrus

We place a cider in 4 to 6 does and after 14 days remove the ciders. 24 hours later, they go into heat and this is when they go into the collection pen. We bottle and add a preservative the same as we do for cover scent.

Balsam 51 Dominant Buck

Dominant Buck is collected in the same way as cover scent but, we use a mature buck instead of does. Preservative is also added to insure storage time.

Preservative

We add a preservative because all urine turns to amonia in 48 hours. So there is no distinction between bull urine and deer urine after that time. A preservative must be added to keep the scent fresh. The preservative we add is the same additive used in pure scent-free soap products. This insures that the hunter has a product that is what he paid for.
